Canada Study Permit for Kids: Things you must know before you apply for Visa to Canada For A Minor

Canada Study Permit for Kids: Things you must know before you apply for Visa to Canada For A Minor

Welcome to your favourite Scholarship, internship and job opportunities website. In today’article I going to discuss about  what you need to apply for if you are traveling to Canada as a worker or a student and you’re wanting to take your minor children with you. That sounds right, right?  What I mean by “minor“ are children who are not yet of the age that requires them to attend a post-secondary institution.

What do you need to apply for on their behalf to take a minor  along with you to Canada?

Seun Ogun is my name, and I’m a Canadian immigration lawyer. I help skilled workers who are inside Canada and those who are outside Canada become Canadian permanent residents without having to deal with all of the complicated immigration rules that are part of that process.

If you intend to immigrate to Canada as a worker, student, or simply a visitor, you might consider what kind of status certificate you will require if you want to bring young children (minor) with you.

For the purposes of Canadian immigration law, a minor child is someone who is either under the age of 18 or under the age of 19, depending on the province in Canada that you want to visit. Here we see that people in the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan don’t get to the age of majority, meaning they remain minors until they get to the age of 18, while that changes for the other provinces. However, a miner is somebody who’s of  the to the age of 19 and above.

If the person is above the age of 18 what type of document must you posses?

If the person is not a minor, then that person may have to apply for their own status document on their own.

If they want to come to Canada, for instance, as a worker and you have a minor child who you want to take with you, meaning this is a child who’s not yet reached the age that requires them to attend a post-graduate institution, then you  need to apply for a study permit on behalf of that child.

In essence, what I meant was that, minor children who want to study in Canada must apply for a study permit before they enter Canada, and this includes minor children who come with parents who already have a work or study permit.

So if you’re taking your minor child to Canada and that child is of school age, let’s say that child is six years of age or older, you will need to apply for a study permit on behalf of that child.

If the child is younger than six or five years old, then that child would not be of school age, and therefore a study permit naturally would not apply. In that instance, you’d apply for a visitor record on behalf of the child.

It’s important to know that, people who want  to come to Canada need to first get what’s called an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution inside Canada.

However, this does not apply to minors who would be studying at elementary or high schools. They do not need an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution.

Do you have any chance if the permit expires when you arrive in Canada?

It’s crucial to understand that you have the option of applying for a new study permit or an extension inside Canada that will be tied to your status document.

However, your child’s study permit will be attached to your work permit if you are in the country on a work permit and need to extend it.

This means that it will be renewed for the same period of time as your work permit. On the other hand, if you arrived in Canada with a child who was too young to start school, such as a toddler, and you’ve been living here for some time, and the child is now old enough to start school, you do not need to apply for a study permit for the child.

It’s important to be aware that some provinces may still require a study permit for a child in order to ensure that the child benefits from all of the provincial social services that are available in that province.

Generally speaking, a child who entered Canada on a visitor record and is now prepared to enroll in school would not need to apply for a study permit but rather would be able to do so at the provincial level.

Of course, like most other rules, there are exceptions, and one of the exceptions to this rule is that if your child is a U.S. national, then that child is required to apply for a study permit. You do not have to include an application for that child in your initial application.

If you yourself are not a U.S. national, the child who is a U.S. national may apply for a study permit at the point in time when they enter Canada and arrive at the port of entry.

They may at that point apply for their study permit by requesting it from the immigration officer.

They do not need to file an application beforehand in order to be eligible for a study permit. So I trust you found value in this article. Thanks for reading to this very end.

How to check Jaiz bank account number and account balance on phone with USSD code and online

When I first opened my Jaiz Bank account a few years ago, I always found myself inconvenienced whenever I needed to check my account balance or other details while away from home or office.

As someone always on the move for work, I wanted an easy and quick way to access important account info anytime, anywhere. Thankfully, Jaiz Bank provides convenient digital banking services that solved this problem for me.

In this article, I’ll explain step-by-step how you can check your Jaiz Bank account number, balance, and other details directly from your mobile phone using either USSD codes or their mobile/internet banking platforms.

What is USSD Code Banking?

Unstructured Supplementary Service Data or USSD coding allows users to access basic banking services directly from their phones without the need for internet data or downloading an app.

It works similarly to text messaging but is faster and can support requests and responses of up to 182 characters. To use USSD banking, you simply dial specific codes on your phone keypad and the bank responds instantly with the requested information on your phone screen. All major banks in Nigeria including Jaiz Bank have implemented this technology to allow customers basic account access from any phone, even older feature phones without data or app support.

Check Your Jaiz Bank Account Details via USSD Code

Checking your Jaiz Bank account details using USSD codes is very simple. All you need is a registered phone number with the bank and must know your account number. Here are the step-by-step instructions:

  • Dial the USSD short code for Jaiz Bank which is *965*11 from your registered mobile phone.
  • The USSD menu will be displayed on your phone screen with different options. Select option 1 for “Account Balance and Mini Statement”.
  • You will be prompted to enter your Jaiz Bank account number. Kindly enter the 10-digit account number.
  • Once you enter the correct account number, the service will display your available account balance and last 5 transactions details instantly on your phone screen.

Check Your Jaiz Bank Account via Mobile/Internet Banking

A more robust option for checking your Jaiz Bank details remotely is through their mobile/internet banking platforms which offer more features than the basic USSD solution. Here are the steps to set it up

Download Jaiz Mobile Banking App

The first step is to download the official Jaiz Mobile Banking application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store onto your smartphone. Search for “Jaiz Mobile” to find the app.

Register for Jaiz Mobile Banking

Log Into the Mobile App

Once registered, launch the app and enter your registered phone number and login pin to access the dashboard. You can now check your balance, account statement, transfer funds and more with ease.

Access via Internet on PC/Laptop

You can also check your Jaiz account details through their internet banking platform on any browser by visiting jaiz.com and entering your login credentials. This allows remote access from any device with an internet connection.

How to Check Account Balance

Now that you’ve set up either the USSD code or mobile/internet banking access, here are the steps to check your Jaiz Bank account balance:

Select “Account Summary”

Once logged into the mobile app dashboard or internet banking site, look for the “Account Summary” option and select it.

View Available Balance

This will show you a summary of your Jaiz Bank accounts including the available balance on each account. The balance displayed is the funds available for use or withdrawal at that moment.

Balance Details

You can also view more details like the account number, title, currency and other statements like the transaction mini statement by selecting the specific account.

It is recommended to check your account balance regularly, especially before and after making any transactions to keep track of your finances at all times for accountability.

Aside from just the current balance, you may also want to check your full account transaction statement with Jaiz Bank to keep detailed records.

An electronic thermostat and fan continually circulate cold air to keep temperature consistent without manual defrosting.

Lockable door and basket

The freezer’s door seal and lock help maintain temperature. It also includes a removable storage basket.

In rural areas, being able to watch the news, movies and football matches at night has been a wonderful experience. The picture quality is more than sufficient for the off-grid home.

FAQs about Sun King Solar Products

How long will a solar battery run a refrigerator?

A solar battery with a capacity of 100Ah can power a refrigerator with a power consumption of around 100 watts for approximately 10 hours.

How many solar panels can power a fridge?

To determine how many solar panels are needed to power a refrigerator, several factors must be considered. These include the refrigerator’s power consumption, the solar panel’s power generation, the number of peak sun hours available, and the overall system sizing.

To calculate the required solar panels, you need to determine the refrigerator’s daily power consumption in watt-hours, calculate the daily energy generation of the solar panels, and then divide the refrigerator’s daily power consumption by the solar panel’s daily energy generation.

For instance, if your refrigerator consumes 400 watt-hours daily and your solar panels generate 1.5 kilowatt-hours daily under ideal conditions, you would need approximately 2.67 solar panels.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Sun King has been a true game changer in my off-grid home by providing reliable energy access through their quality, affordable and well-designed solar products. Being able to efficiently power basic necessities and have some modern comforts and entertainment has greatly improved my quality of life without fuel costs or generator fumes.

While the initial investment is higher than cheap alternatives upfront, Sun King systems have reliably paid for themselves over and over in savings versus the alternatives. I’d highly recommend considering Sun King if you live without grid power in Nigeria. Reliable renewable energy is achievable.

How to Check Your Bank Verification Number (BVN) Without Airtime and Get Your BVN Without Going to the Bank in Nigeria

What is a BVN?

A Bank Verification Number, commonly known as a BVN, is a unique number issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to bank customers that enables them to perform banking transactions from any location within Nigeria. The BVN is an 11-digit number linked to basic customer and account information that allows Nigerian banks to verify the identity of customers and monitor banking transactions.

Why Do I Need My BVN?

Having access to your BVN details is important for several reasons

To Access Banking Services Remotely

With your BVN, you can easily access your bank accounts, check balances, transfer funds, pay bills and complete other transactions remotely via online, mobile or ATM banking without having to visit a physical bank branch each time.

To Complete Government Transactions

Several government services and portals now require individuals to input their BVN for identity verification purposes. This includes transactions with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), National Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), and National Pension Commission (PENCOM) among others.

To Prevent Bank Account Fraud

Linking all your existing and new bank accounts to a unique BVN makes it difficult for fraudsters to open accounts or carry out transactions using stolen identities and invalid credentials.

Common Ways to Check Your BVN

The BVN code for all banks is *565*0#

Simply dial the code for your bank, wait for the prompt, and your BVN will be displayed immediately.

Complete the Enrollment Form

Fill out a BVN enrollment form providing your basic details like name, date of birth, phone number and email. In some cases, your fingerprint and picture may also be captured.

Receive Your BVN

Once your details are verified and captured in the Central BVN database, the bank official will provide you with a slip containing your 11-digit Bank Verification Number.

Link All Existing Accounts

Link all your other bank accounts to the newly generated BVN for ease of access, e-banking services and to prevent identity theft.
